This exfoliator has no fragrance added to it, but does smell exactly like coffee. Green coffee bean powder & oil smells like coffee. It is not an overwhelming smell of coffee and rinses away when you are done exfoliating. If you purchase the set of Ultra- Hydrating Exfoliant & the Green Coffee Bean Oil Blend the smell fades as the product is absorbed, but If you do not enjoy the smell of coffee this would not be an oil you would want to purchase. Why choose a natural exfoliator? Commercial scrubs or exfoliators often have polyethylene beads....(plastic beads) in them to achieve exfoliation. These beads get into the ocean and pollute it. They are very tiny which makes them impossible to separate from the water. They make their way into our oceans are consumed by small fish, which are eaten by bigger fish which are eaten by us.
Once I began doing the research I was astounded by some of the ingredients in store bought skin & body care.
Ultra-Hydrating Green Coffee Bean Facial & Body Exfoliant.
Directions: Use 2 to 3 times per week. Place 1 teaspoon in your hand and slowly add drops of water until you achieve the desired consistency. May also be mixed with facial oil. (I recommend the matching Green Coffee Bean Facial Oil) Gently apply to the face and décolleté or anywhere on the skin allowing the product to do the work for you. Do not rub aggressively on the skin! Allow the natural exfoliating ingredients to do their job. You may also leave the product on the skin for 5 to 10 minutes as a facial mask. When you rinse the product off you will feel moisturized from the beautiful blend of oils in this product. As with any skin care product, it is always a good idea to do a patch test if you are prone to allergies.
Ultra-Hydrating Green Coffee Bean Exfoliant helps to reduce hyperpigmentation of the skin by gently removing dead skin cells without over drying the skin allowing for better penetration of your other Bloom Botanica Skincare products. The ingredients help to lighten and brighten the skins overall appearance giving the skin a smoother, softer, radiant & glowing appearance.
The amino acids & vitamins present in Organic Brown Rice Powder absorbs excess oil and with repeated use has a natural lightening affect on the skin helping to reduce hyperpigmentation (dark spots) in the skin.
Green coffee bean powder is an amazing hydrator. It contains Chlorogenic Acid which increases skin’s hydration & helps to relieve dryness. It naturally improves the skin’s barrier function. It also contains Feruluc Acid which slows down the aging process helping to give us a more youthful appearance.
Marshmallow Root Powder.
When this amazing product is applied to the skin it provides instant hydration and it continues to help improve the skins ability to retain its own moisture. It is helpful for those that deal with rosacea or eczema as it has anti-inflammatory benefits.
Niacinamide or Vitamin B3 helps to hydrate the skin, treat hyper pigmentation, boost the skin’s elasticity, decrease blotchiness of the skin as well as reduce redness. Vitamin B3 is a powerful antioxidant and it helps to fight free radical damage.
Colloidal Oatmeal
Colloidal oatmeal works as a powerful emollient by adding moisture to the skin. It helps the skin from feeling itchy, irritated and inflamed. It helps to reduce redness and calm the skin.
Cocoa Powder
Who doesn’t love chocolate?! Cocoa powder helps to provide softer skin by increasing your skin’s elasticity….therefore helping to reduce fine lines and wrinkles. It also helps reduce the appearance of scars. It contains polyphenols a type of antioxidant. It is rich in vitamin C, Omega 6 fatty acids, and magnesium.
The caffeine in this product helps reduce puffiness and firm the skin.
Kaolin clay is a very mild & gentle skin cleanser which works wonders on those with dry or sensitive skin. Many people suffering from acne use products that over dry the skin. This is never good as it actually causes excess sebum (oil) production. Kaolin Clay Powder is purifying, detoxifying & good for all skin types.
This product also contains a beautiful blend of coffee bean oil, argan oil, flaxseed oil & cotton seed oil as well as extracts of chamomile and ginkgo biloba. All of these beautiful oils help infuse this product with hydrating benefits. This truly is a Hydrating Exfoliant.
